I had a post all typed up and ready to put up today, but that has to wait....I just wanted to drop a line to ask my blogfam to thank God with me....

Men of the underworld broke into my home last night and did what they usually do. I just want to bless God that my family and I were unscathed at the end of the about 30 minute ordeal....I also bless His name that my neighbours were also unscathed...I'm sill quite shaken up by the whole shebang and I'm particularly sad that my daughter had to witness such drama but I also know God can and will make her forget....We all are, just because He is. Occurrences like this make you remember that life is so fragile, nothing is constant and we are all living in uncertainty.

It is really sad when men who you have no knowledge of break into your home in the dead of the night, threaten, push you about and ransack your property as if they belong to them and then look to you as though they deserve a thank you after they are done creating the stuff that nightmares are made of in your head.....it's sad to know that even if you screamed or called the police, it would take forever (if ever) for help to come to your aid......sad to know that these miscreants feel so comfortable in your home with the assurance that the noise from the generators outside is enough to drown out whatever commotion that could arise from their unannounced entry into your home...it's all such a crying shame!

This quote by Peter Henry Abrahams pretty much says it all for me.....
"To live with the conscious knowledge of the shadow of uncertainty, with the knowledge that disaster or tragedy could strike at any time; to be afraid and to know and acknowledge your fear, and still to live creatively and with unstinting love: that is to live with grace"

May His grace surround us all everyday of our lives!

1love,
'moni

Nyemoni, i'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. I cant even begin to imagine what you went through, not having experienced anything like that myself. It's unfortunate you've lost those things for good, but praise God no one was hurt!

Wow...can't say more than that really. Keep your head up and i hope your daughter is ok. God bless...

First time caller in the house.
I am so sorry about your ordeal and I pray that you heal quickly. May I also reassure you that your lil' girl will heal with time. I went through a similar ordeal about 30 years ago, I must have been 5 or so and I CAN TELL THAT i never had nightmares nor did I have it in my mind.I only think about it when i read or hear such stories but I CAN still see their faces and would be able to pick them from any line up.
Anyway, cheer up because the Good lord has proved himself

GRACE...is the word. I can't imagine life without His grace. We are really fragile, and none of us know what can happen in the next second because none can be God except God Himself.

I'm so happy you and u family are alive and unscathed to tell this testimony. Though u walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, He is with you...His rod and His staff.

Wow!!! Nyemoni, I'm so glad u guys are alive and doing well, because I am sure they had guns.

I do not want to get mad right now by talking abt the Nigerian police, and so I refrain.

As for ur daughter, it won't leave any emotional scars by God's grace. When I was about 12 or so in naija...these people also came to my house and put a cold gun to my head. It seems like a dream now. God protected my family back then too...

***Smile, give thanks***

I'm glad to hear that you all are fine. God will restore. I had a visit once with this people. My hubby travelled so I was home alone. They cleared EVERYTHING in the sitting room and made away with my boxes, clothes and jewelry from the bedroom. To tell you I was broken is an understatement. I was torn. My husband almost fainted when he heard and the first thing he asked was ...you know what. Naaaaaahhh they didn't touch me. My uncle and his wife came visiting that night so I went out for dinner with them and just spent the night at the family house. Divine intervention!

Hope they did not scare the tinney winney in your stomach? DOn't worry your daughter will be fine. PLease rub her head for me.

Oh sweetheart! I havnt been here in a while and i didnt know of this.

Am glad nothing happened to you ar ur family.

Its so sad that we live our lives at the mercy of these men of the underworld. Its so sad that in this our dear country, we do not have a working security system.

I have had terrible experiences with robbers twice in my life and it's not something one should wish on her enemy.

Once again, i thank God no bodily harm was done. the money/properties they took, you will get back a hundred fold in Jesus name, amen!
